Unfortunately nothing happened. We got an approximate place but when it came to some suggested dates, well nobody seemed keen.

Of course the parinoid part of me thinks that an uber secret meeting was held somewhere in a dimly lit room with people wearing cloaks and capes.

Otherwise in Brisbane DAQ made some kind of attempt to get a one day conference thing going but they cancelled it weeks before it was to happen (!!!!) due to lack of interest. I think a problem was the $90 fee which I think is too much for a lot of people I was prepared to pay but not months before the thing started. I got the feel that they werent really interested in anyone with T1 getting too closely involved (other than handing over $90).

That's a shame to hear Muzz. DAQ started emailing me randomly updates of the minutae of the conference organising many many months ago, and I wrote back to say I'd run a few such things and if they had any questions I was very happy to answer and contribute if neeeded but not sure why i was receiving random updates. They never asked any questions. Strange, and a shame if it never actually went ahead.

Hello Brisbanites

I would love to be involved in some kind of RC Brisbane thing.

I expressed interest in that Dynamic Intent thing, but they emailed me to say it was off before I passed over $$. They must have told different people at different times, because I got told well over a week before it was meant to happen.

Agh, misread, just read Muzz properly. Yes, it was cancelled well before the day, like I said I was really interested and hadn't paid so they may have jumped the gun a bit.

Well that's 3 of you who are keen, why don't you get together and organise a mutually convenient time to meet for a coffee or a drink or something, ya never know who else might turn up or where it might lead!

Me!

I actually emailed the Dynamic Intent people suggesting that we try to start some kind of meetup thing, and they put it in the most recent newsletter, so if we go ahead i'll email them again and see if they've gotten responses.

Days, times, places? I live in western Brisbane not too far from Indooroopilly and can get most places. I'm pretty busy but not at any specific time if that makes sense, so suggest away....

Fiona, you can see a slightly battered Cozmo in action :-).

Tash - yes I'm in Chapel Hill! You can see both of us on this map abs did a little while ago.

Everyone - 24th/25th March is good for me too. I suggest the city cos it's easy to get to, but we could also go to West End if someone knows a good place? I have only been in Brissy a year so I don't have a really detailed knowledge of good places. I'd probably favour Saturday afternoon/evening.

Hi Brisvegas kids - I'm transferring you over to "Meet". When you get a date post back here again just to make sure anyone else sees it. Kate

OK, I'll get the ball rolling and suggest 4pm Saturday 24th March at Cafe Mondial, corner of elizabeth and albert streets in the city, opposite Borders book store. I make no recommendations about the cafe, it's just the only one I know and it seemed OK!

Who's in?

Cafe Mondial, 4pm, 24th march sounds good.

Mondial is a good location for accessing public transport, for anyone who doesnt know its approx 10minutes walk from Central Station and is a minute or two from the Myers centre/Queen Street underground bus station, I assume this is still operating with all the new busway connections being built, but theres still plenty of other bus stops close by.

Perhaps its time to post our propsed meeting date, 24 th march 4pm at Cafe Mondial , on the main forum page?, as suggested by Kate (see previous posts).

we have at least 3 people agreeing to that date & place. we might even get some extras to come along who dont usually check out the meet forum.

I'd hate to see this opportunity slip away, like the DAQ conference did.

Im keen... but 4pm would be impossible for me.. I look after Autistic children until 3.30pm on Saturdays (thats assuming the parent gets off work on time..sometimes its later) and its at Springfield....so even if I came straight there...Id never make it *sigh*....

What time do you reckon you would all be there till?.... maybe I could join you towards the end??

Sorry everyone, my email notify thing somehow vanished for this thread. I agree, time to post back on main thread, I'll be there.

Tash - sorry, your original post said you finished work at 3pm so i suggested 4 to give you time to get there! What time do you think you can make it? I'm sure we'll be around for a while, as far as I know I've got nowhere to run off to.....

Hi Lars

The Brisbane meet up actually happened, I thought It went pretty well & I got some handy tips on good endos to check out in Brissie. I'd hope in time we could all get together for another meet up & would be happy to have you come along.

I see you are back in Oz. How is the recovery from your skiing accident (was it skiing??).

cheers

Thanks for the update Muzz. Assuming another meet up can be arranged this year I'll be there.

Happened while snowboarding. Got into a fight with a tree - as usual the tree won.

I think it was you who mentioned hooking up for some training rides in a thread about the M2M?

Assuming my memory is correct, I would enjoy having a ride with another D. I'm starting to ride enough again to call myself a cyclist so if you are interested please get in touch with me at insulininjected@yahoo.com.au

Cheers.
