HELLO REALITY CHECKERS .... Here's my take on the big day at reality check live! Firstly the parking was great! I didn’t think there would be much but there was some in good walking distance yey! Weather was typical Melbourne!! But hey we are used to it by now! sunny..cold..raining but didn’t really matter cause we were all on a high from the big day ahead! The first workshop I went to was natural therapies...which sounds a little hippy but turned out very interesting! Renee was very comfortable at any questions we threw at her and the best bit was learning about the sweetner plant that has no calories but tastes like real sweetener (eg. splenda) so now... motivated by that workshop we have a plant (stevia) growing in the back yard!!yey! Next was Spiros and "Shit Happens" (who joined us a little flustered...from getting lost on the way) who spoke about complications which we all are getting more aware of as each diabetic year passes us! He handled our worries and silly questions well! And it didn’t seem as scary for some reason!?? Secret women’s business was next for me...which was very popular workshop..judging by the fact that we ran out of chairs! Once again questions were asked and amazing courageous women stories were told! The weight issue we only just squeezed in and touched on the surface (ran out of time!) but many concerns about pregnancy were brushed away with stories and help from the 2 strong women up the front of the room...jenny and kellie! The rest went to quickly......drinks.... a trip to hawaii (what can i say!!!) and dinner...where we all mingled together to have our shots of insulin, enjoy a lovely dinner and talk about the whole day and other normal stuff! And George, what can I say....who else could of been a more FABULOUS host!??? Well done everyone! Hayley, Croydon |
